Great cleaned up sound on these vintage recordings by an artist who was, rightfully, a big deal in his own time. Other reviewers here have lauded Nick's affecting tenor vocals, but he was also a master guitarist--the first guitarist to be offered an endorsement deal by Gibson Guitars, in fact. Nick Lucas had it all. If you think "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" is some kind of novelty song, thank to Tiny Tim, listen to Nick's original reading. He finds a well of tenderness and yearning I've not heard from any other of the many artists that have recorded this classic. It's almost a heartbreaker in Nick's hands. Prepare to hear the old warhorse of a tune with new ears!
